In 2003, the club held its first summer “Junior week” for members with young families: In 2004 we purchased our first dinghies and, but for Covid, have held one every year since.
The section now has two safety boats 3 Picos, 2 Feva’s and from 2023, 3 zests and a Quest. The latter now has allowed us to expand Dinghy Sailing to all.
Dinghy sailing requires a more robust organisation to provide support ashore and afloat – this is run mostly by parents assisting a qualified trainer.
We also encourage and help facilitate RYA Powerboat training.
From the 1st of June the target is for fortnightly Saturday sessions, with the “Dinghy Week” scheduled in early July each year.
